Fort Worth FC’s First Annual Parent/Player Play day, hosted by FWFC’s 01G Red team, was a very successful 4 hour event filled with tons of soccer fun, bounce house fun, BBQ, and lots of laughs and smiles.
FWFC parents were able to show off their speed, their ability to move the ball, and their ability to score against their opposing team-their own children! The younger teams played against their parents in refereed, full length 5V5 games, while the U 11 and above played full 11V11 games. Although the kids thought they had easy wins in the bag, they were pretty surprised by their parent’s ability to pass, move, head and shoot the bal. In order to pull a win for their team, both the youth and, as labeled by the kids “The Golden Oldies”, had to work very hard to earn their team a win. Not only did all participants enjoy their time on the field, all spectators were completely entertained from the opening stretches of parents to their interaction with one another on the field.
With this new event a complete success for the club, the next play day is being planned for the Spring with more family fun guaranteed.
